No kennel or line is stronger than it's bitches. The foundation bitch is often the cornerstone of a successful line. “foundation bitch” becomes a permanent part of any breeder’s line.

AKC Showing in Conformation
Conformation is the official term for dogs that are entered in an AKC show and are judged by how closely an individual dog conforms to their breed standard.
The judge is familiar with the breeds he/she judges & evaluates them according to how well the dog conforms to their breed, as described in the individual breed standard. This competition is open to AKC Dogs with Full Registration

Obedience trials demonstrate the dog’s ability to follow specified routines in the obedience ring and emphasize the usefulness of the dog as a companion to humankind. The objective of obedience trials is to recognize dogs that have been trained to behave in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs in a manner that will reflect credit on the sport of obedience at all times and under all conditions.

AKC Rally® is one of the newest AKC sports and participation increases every year. Whether you just train or decide to compete, Rally develops better teamwork between you and your dog. Just as importantly, it will sharpen your dog’s obedience skills and behavior – at home and in public.

While dogs may begin training for trick titles as puppies, the earliest an AKC Trick Dog title will be awarded by AKC is 4 months. To be eligible for the AKC Trick Dog Novice Title, your dog must have been observed by a CGC Evaluator doing 10 tricks from the list of accepted tricks.

Lure coursing is both a competitive event, and a non-competitive method for training and wearing out certain dog breeds. To sum it up, lure coursing is an activity in which a dog chases a mechanical lure. The game is played on a “course”, or flat stretch of ground that may or may not have obstacles along the way.
